Sometimes it is necessary to travel for treatment and followup care. Some of the major hospitals in the province have hostels or will refer you to community facilities or nearby reasonably priced private hotels. Here are some contact numbers to get you started.

St. Anthony

There is a hostel available if you need to stay overnight. Reservations can be made by calling 454-3333 and asking for admitting.

St. John's

Agnes Cowan Hostel at the General Hospital - Health Sciences

The Agnes Cowan Hostel, located next to the Health Sciences Centre and the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, can accommodate patients and families. There is a nightly charge, but reduced rates are available to those who qualify. The hostel is very busy and reservations are strongly recommended.
